Company Overview
In February 2024, we announced an investment of up to $460MM in rPlus Energies, a leading utility-scale renewable energy developer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Since its founding in 2018, rPlus has developed a diversified portfolio of solar, wind, battery and pumped storage hydropower facilities representing over 15 gigawatts of generation or storage capacity, building upon its history of successfully commercialized and constructed projects in the US. Led by Luigi Resta, Cliff Smith, Theresa Foxley, and John Spilman, the management team brings astute industry know-how gained from decades of experience developing renewable projects across the US.
Why we invested
The investment in rPlus aligns with our longstanding thesis that a significant rollout of renewable generation and electric storage is needed to meet the sharply growing power demands of the US, while supporting the urgent need to retire coal-fired generation plants. Through our investment, we are improving the reliability of the power system and contributing to its decarbonization.
